About Jennifer

Experience

My internship at a battered women’s shelter began my passion to develop resources for emotional abuse recovery. I obtained a master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and practiced as a clinical social worker for 36 years. I published Coercive Relationships: Find the Answers You Seek in 2021 to reach more survivors.  Other accomplishments during my career include a curriculum for intimate partner abuse group work, workshops, professional newsletter articles, expert witness testimony, a website blog, and awards from state and local agencies.

Since retiring from clinical practice, I devote my energies to:

  • Marketing Coercive Relationships
  • Reaching survivors through social media, podcasts, and presentations
  • Publishing a blog that focuses on topics of interest to survivors, professionals, or family and friends concerned about someone they think is being abused
  • Providing specialized training in effective therapy for intimate partner abuse victims.

I developed the Women’s Voices group curriculum in 1991 for female survivors. My curriculum can be adapted for male and nonbinary individuals as well. Anyone interested in information about this curriculum can contact me here.
